Cricket
fever will explode into Perth in December 2010 Western Australia’s
capital city Perth, will become a cricket Mecca as it hosts the
Third Ashes Test match. Surrounding the excitement of what could be
the deciding test match of the game’s most watched series, will be a
plethora of cricket and social activities.
Perth is set to host the all-important third test of the 2010 Ashes
Series that will see a show-down between Australia and England at
the WACA.
A festival of cricket will surround the event as Perth comes alive
with fever.
Western Australians are lovers of cricket and with the arrival of
thousands of visitors from abroad, the atmosphere in Perth is
expected to be exhilarating.

WACA Ground
The WACA is a
sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia. WACA are the
initials of its owners and operators, the Western Australian
Cricket Association.
The WACA ground has been the "home" of cricket in Western
Australia since the early 1890s. The first Test match was played
at the ground in 1970. The WACA has also been the home ground of
the state of Western Australia's domestic cricket team,
currently known as the Western Warriors. The women's cricket
team known as the Western Fury plays in the Women's National
Cricket League.
The pitch at the WACA was regarded as one of the quickest and
bounciest in the world. These characteristics, in combination
with the afternoon sea-breezes which regularly pass the ground
(the Fremantle Doctor), have historically made the ground an
attractive place for pace and swing bowlers.

Subiaco Oval
"Patersons
Stadium"
Subiaco Oval
(currently known under its naming rights as Patersons Stadium),
or known colloquially as Subi, is the highest capacity sports
stadium in Perth, Western Australia. It is located in the suburb
of Subiaco, about three kilometres west of Perth's city centre.
Subiaco Oval's capacity is 43,500 fully-seated. The ground is
floodlit by four lighting towers.
In October 2010 the name of the ground was changed to Patersons
Stadium which sparked a lot of controversy but the Western
Australian Football Commission accepted it and said it would put
money back into all levels of AFL Footy.
As a music venue:
Subiaco Oval has been the venue of major music concerts. It is
often chosen for large concerts because there are no other
venues of comparable capacity in Perth.
